Tiger Woods Apparently blamed his loss of the USPGA Golf Tournament to Yang Yong-Eun on his poor putting performance.

After watching the replays, i’m inclined to agree. I guess we are all aloud our “off days” though. I think he should be relly pleased with the result he got.

“I felt I played well enough to win today,” said Woods.

If a player wins both the tournament and the Race to Dubai they will take home £1.7m compared with £2.2m, a similar reduction of 25%.

I can’t help but feel a little sorry for the players this time around, Loosing out on a huge wedge of cash due to the worlds ecconomic position.

Birdie: One shot below par.

Bogey: One shot over par.

Double Eagle: Three shots under par

Double Bogey: Two shots over par

Eagle: Two shots under par.

Par: The difficulty of the hole you are on. If this course is harder, a higher par is assigned. Its basically the average number you are trying to get.

Sand Wedge: A type of club used to get out of a sand bunker, designed to hit the ball very high, but not far.

Iron: A type of club normally used to hit a ball that is on the fairway (the space between the hole and where you are starting from). Irons are assigned numbers according to the angle of the head.

Woods: A type of club used at the start of a hole, they are usually used with a tee and are designed to hit the ball very long distances.

I’m not too sure I agree with the move.. The Olympics just doesn’t seem like the right sort of competition for a sport like Golf. Wouldn’t they be better to accept a sport like squash or Karate. I jsut think it would be more suited to the type of competition that the Olympics has become.

.. Although I guess it just means there will be more Golf on the TV though so its all good.

The Colonial Invitational is the longest running event on the USPGA Tour, which is still being played at the original golf course. The Country Club has hosted the event since 1946.

The course was built in 1936 and since it was formed has always been in America’s Top 100 golf courses. One of only five courses to do so.

The golf club’s founder was Marvin leonard.
