Atalaya
This course is the official base for the European PGA, which has over 7500 professional golfers and incorporates 29 countries.
The Atalaya Golf Course is par 72 and has two 18 hole courses, Atalaya New Course and Atalaya Old Course.
Each course is kept in superb condition and has obviously cared for greens and fairways of Bermuda Tifway 419.
Created in 1967 by Bernhard Von Limburger, the Atalaya Old Course is flat, the fairways have ample width and are flanked by lush plants and impressive pine trees.
The Atalaya New Course has a smoother terrain than the Old Course, and has an outlook of the mountains and the Mediterranean. The New Course was established in 1991.
The Old Course has a par 72, a slope level of 135 and covers 6440 yards, where as the New Course has a par 67, a slope level of 124 and covers 5738 yards. It should be noted that the course lengths have been confirmed in yards and from the yellow tees. In addition, the rating for the slope level is off the yellow tees.
The Atalaya Golf Club is about half an hour from Fuengirola and only a quarter of an hour from Puerto Banus.
